What to do Thanksgiving weekend.....

Well.... spend it at the beach of course. We were blessed with a weekend of 80 degree temps so we headed to the beach for a family day! It was great and the kids had a blast! I already can't wait for next summer!

The Sock Monkey Party.... that wasn't:(

Well what a birthday it was/wasn't. Where to even start. The day before the party I could tell both kids were going to be pretty sick but I was hoping everyone would get a great night sleep and be fine for the party. What was I thinking?? Mike and I got about 3 hours sleep. It was like having a newborn again and not in a good way. Needless to say, the next morning they were worse. We cancelled the balloons, cancelled the bounce house, cancelled the pizza (well all but 2 of them, we still had to eat) and sent out all the texts that the party was not going to happen. Instead we had on our own little family party with sick kiddos. Grandpa stopped by in the morning to bring Travis his presents and Uncle David and Auntie Cat came by before bed time to drop their gifts off! That was a nice treat! It is definitely a birthday that none of us will forget. I did SOO much decorating and went to town with this whole "sock monkey" theme. Sure was cute, just wish everyone could have seen it! Travis didn't even take a bite of his Monkey cake. Just kind of smashed it between and fingers and cried. It was kind of sad. We will try it again when everyone is healthy again.
